IWAKI operates unique businesses by combining the follwing three functions organically.

	1. Wholesaler function
	One of the nation’s top distribution systems of wholesale pharmaceuticals. That is what IWAKI is to many people. With seeing ourselves in the position to help people by supporting good health, we distribute products from various pharmaceutical manufacturers to clinics, hospitals, and pharmacies nationwide. Furthermore, we serve as a cornerstone in the industry with our ability to distribute various manufacturers’ products on a national scale through our strong network of various pharmaceutical wholesalers.
	2. Trading company function
	The second defining characteristic of IWAKI is that it is known as a trading company with long-held tradition. IWAKI imports chemicals, food products materials, pharmaceutical raw materials and other materials from Europe, the United States and other nations around the world, and supplies them to various industries in Japan. The Company also imports raw materials for pharmaceuticals that other firms are not allowed to import under Japanese laws and regulations, which makes IWAKI a unique entity. As a trading company, we are always finding new suppliers overseas so that we can reliably meet growing demand.
	3. Manufacturing function
	The third characteristic that shapes IWAKI is its function as a manufacturer, and this facet best demonstrates the Company’s uniqueness. Our ambition has not been just to become a company dealing with merchandise. From its early stages, IWAKI has established and fostered collateral manufacturers, in the belief that we need to establish a system for developing products on our own in order to meet market needs with accuracy and sensitivity. In recent years, we have further reinforced this system through alliance and merger with European and U.S. firms, and have supplied high-quality and distinctive products to the market.

	Pharmaceuticals Business
	We distribute ethical pharmaceuticals, pharmaceuticals and raw materials for vitro diagnostics, veterinary medicines, tranquilizer guns, artificial respirators, etc. We also conduct bio-related businesses such as drug discovery services and distribute environment-related products.
	Pharmaceuticals/Cosmetic Products Materials Business
	IWAKI sells raw materials for pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and health foods, and so forth. It also manufactures pharmaceuticals for other firms, produces cosmetics, health foods, and others, on an OEM basis, and sells products that use materials for which IWAKI holds the patent, such as health foods.
	Chemical Products Business
	IWAKI sells fine chemicals, industrial chemicals, raw materials for stabilizers for vinyl chloride, surface finishing chemicals and subsidiary materials, and plating facilities. It also sells the in-tank filter system “FLO KING,” acting as the sole agent for marketing the product in Japan.
	Food Product Materials Business
	IWAKI sells dairy products, confectionery ingredients, spices, dehydrated vegetables, fruit powder, and natural seasonings such as yeast extract. The products are supplied from all over the world, centering on Europe and the U.S.
